Husband-and-wife team Michael and Victoria Philippou decided to take a different and healthier approach to making and eating ice cream, and the result is this healthy, delicious alternative plant-based treat.

Their frozen fruit treats are also vegan-gluten free, have no preservatives or additives and free from artificial flavors. Frozen Fruit Co products don’t have refined sugars either. Their products started at their Santa Monica store but they’ve expanded operations and now have a Frozen Fruit Co truck to service customers.

Whether you call it ice cream, frozen yogurt, frozen treats or sorbet, there is no arguing over the taste. Another distinguishing aspect of Frozen Fruit Co is they don’t have any base flavors so each one is different. This is one of the things that sets Frozen Fruit Co apart.

What Frozen Fruit Co does is collect fruit and mix them with peaches, dates, pears, apples and other natural sugars. The end result is a delicious frozen treat that has natural flavors and is good for your body. These frozen treats have a distinct, powerful flavor and texture that is uniquely its own.

Because Frozen Fruit Co is comprised of healthy fruits you can eat as many as you want without feeling guilty. These treats will leave you full but it’s not going to cause your sugar level to go up because they have natural sugars. Everything here is natural so you and your friends can eat this anytime.

Best Beers To Serve At Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and food, but it’s also a time for a great beer. Here are the best beers you need to try at particular times at your Thanksgiving festivities:

Beers for the Early Afternoon

This is your starting beer, to go with the first appetizers and the first football game on TV. So try any of the following:

Beers with Dinner

Congratulations, as you’re still quite sober for the main event. Make sure you get a beer glass for any of the following beers:

  • Stillwater Artisanal Ales’s Cellar Door Saison. Beer experts will love its complexity, but it’s still smooth enough even for the pickiest eaters. It goes well with a wide range of dishes, and the highly carbonated drink cleanses your tongue to keep the food tasting fresh and delicious.
  • Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s Indian Brown Ale. It’s a truly underrated beer, but you should be able to appreciate it this Thanksgiving. It starts with the malty caramel you get from a Scotch ale, and then it’s mixed with lots of American hops for an insistent bitterness that mixes pine and grapefruit notes.
  • Deschutes Brewery’s Black Butte Porter. Porters like Black Butte Porter come with a lighter roast that’s wonderfully balanced by a certain level of hop. A porter isn’t like a stout, which is generally a bit more bitter. This porter goes very well with dark meat turkey and other roasted and caramelized goodies. In other words, it seems custom-made for Thanksgiving.

Beers with Dessert

What’s Thanksgiving without dessert? Also, what’s a Thanksgiving dessert without the right beer? You can answer these philosophical questions (or at least try) with the right beers, such as the following:

  • Allagash Brewing Company’s Curieux. The Allagash Brewing Company is the most famous brewery in Portland, Maine, and they’ve been making their Curiex since 2004. It’s a very rich brew, and you can get hints of coconut, honey, pear, spice, and apples. There’s also a very slight note of bourbon, along with a bit of vanilla. Basically, you need this beer with your apple pie.
  • Brewery Ommegang’s Three Philosophers. Yep, it’s a strong beer with 9.7% ABV, but then it’s for dessert after all. Here you get notes of brown sugar with molasses, cherry, raisin, and plum.
  • Oskar Blues’s Ten Fidy. This imperial stout is released every November, and you get notes of roast, caramel, and rich chocolate that are perfect with dessert!

The Good Mart - New Spot For Healthy Snacks in LA

Located in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood, The Goods Mart is a convenience store for healthy snacks. Parents and millennials concerned with healthy eating are often dismayed when there’s really not much to choose from when they’re at a gas mart. You’ve got greasy pizza, gummies, and soda, none of which are even remotely healthy. The best you can hope for is to find beef jerky or nuts, which at best can be considered somewhat nutritious.

But now there’s The Goods Mart. Described as a lovechild between 7-Eleven and Whole Foods Market, this is the healthy convenience store that very few people even thought possible. Everyone knows that convenience store snacks are unhealthy, but The Goods Mart founder Rachel Krupa didn’t get that memo.

Here are the features that distinguish The Goods Mart from the competition:

  • It is located in the Silver Lake neighborhood in LA. This is a trendy spot for young well-off millennials, with a median age of 35 and an average household income greater than $68,000. The spot is even accessible to walking traffic, which you don’t really find in LA.
  • Like marts, it offers itself as an alternative to the grocery store for shoppers with no time to waste. Yet at the same time, its wares offer healthy snacks, which are items you don’t normally find in places like 7-Eleven. The décor in the store makes you feel like it’s a “normal” convenience shop, though the predominance of health alternatives can make you feel like Alice in Wonderland.
  • Every single item in the mart will not contain health no-nos such as artificial flavors, sweeteners, and coloring. There will be no growth hormones or disruptors.
  • Items with animal proteins come from humanely raised stock, and they’re all free of GMOs, antibiotics, and nitrates. The pork rinds are Paleo-friendly, and they’re healthier because they’ve been seasoned with pink Himalayan salt.
  • Yes, there are processed items here which you can just get on the fly, like chocolate bars, ramen cups, and cheese puffs. But in The Goods Mart, they’re made with healthier alternative ingredients such as chia seeds and quinoa.
  • The slushy machine doesn’t serve soda, but instead produces a kombucha variety with a tropical flavor. Instead of energy drinks, you can instead grab yerba mate.
  • If you’re looking for fresh produce, you can get fruit from LA’s local GrubMarket. You just have to avoid judging the book by its cover, as the fruits are tasty despite their ugly and imperfect shapes. They’re like goofy-looking mutts as the ugly lemons and oranges are placed in huge weave baskets right beside the front door.
  • The condoms here are all made from vegan, certified Fairtrade rubber. You can find your bathroom basics like shavers and toilet paper at the back of the store, and they’re all made from sustainable materials.
  • At the checkout, customers can also check out the iPads that offer info about the mission of each brand they have on their shelves. The mart also provided extended training for the staff so that they can answer questions regarding vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary options.

The Goods Mart will work as a test case. If it does work, then they may eventually become ubiquitous throughout the country. When you stop at a gas mart in the future, you may find yourself looking at healthier snack options instead.

Brew a Perfect Cup of Expresso With This Human-Powered Espresso Maker

Quality espresso is hard to come by, and the good ones are not cheap. So why not make your own espresso? With Flair Espresso Maker you’ve finally got the chance to have espresso specifically just like the way it’s supposed to be.

Flair is easy to use. All you need to do is press a button and you’ve got an espresso. You don’t have to plug the unit in, no need for pods or electronics either. Even with its simplicity you’ve got everything necessary to get that espresso.

You just need to load freshly grounded coffee and pull the lever down. That’s all there is to it. The minimalist design makes it suitable for new users and it’s also durable. The Flair is portable too so you can take this with you.

While the Flair is made of die-cast aluminum and stainless steel, it isn’t that heavy and only takes up 13 x 9 inches. When you’re done using it, detach the brewing container for quick cleaning. Water will do, no chemicals or cleaning solutions necessary.
