Super Cool Prop/Art Display Wall Mount Invented by Two LA Designers

Super Cool Prop/Art Display Wall Mount Invented by Two LA Designers

Jack Bogdan and Brooklyn Short, who are Los Angeles-based designers, created Prop/Art as a way of displaying their record and comics collection as wall art. They initially wanted to display their art prints but it was too expensive to have them framed – and thus Prop/Art was born.

Prop/Art, or Prop/Art, is a wall-mounted, single-item display shelf that can easily be nailed on a wooden or concrete wall.  Made from high-grade aluminum, it can accommodate a standard 12-inch and 7-inch vinyl record or a comic book with backing board. It has a slight indent at the bottom to keep the displayed item in place, too, so you don’t have to worry about your collectible records falling to the floor.

Each Prop/Art comes with a brass-plated nail. Just position the shelf on the wall, drop the nail, and hammer it in and voila! You have someplace to display your record or comic book.

Think of Prop/Art as a way of displaying your cherished records and comic books yet still have easy access to them. Why hide them behind closed glass and wooden doors when you can proudly show them off?

You will also find that with the artworks on the covers of records and comic books, you can make an eye-catching wall installation in your home. You may even use empty Prop/Art shelves as part of your original artwork, such as a series of black Prop/Art shelves on a white background.

The Prop/Art shelves also mean more interaction, in a manner of speaking, with your collections. You can admire them as an original artwork, or play them on a turntable or read them again and again, or just take satisfaction from your impressive collection.

Prop/Art in itself can become a collector’s item. Each shelf is stamped as well as marked with its specific edition, a clever touch if you want the original.

Super Versatile Swimwear Designed by Surfer, Nadja de Col

Versatile Swimwear Designed by Surfer, Nadja de Col

Necessity is the mother of invention – and Nalla is certainly proof of it! Nadja de Col, a Peruvian designer and surfer, was inspired to create it when her bikini bottom was ripped off from her while she was surfing in Hawaii. She then created a versatile swimwear that can be twisted, knotted and arranged in different configurations – the Nalla.

Basically, Nalla is a single cut of stitch-less Lycra fabric that comes with accessories. You can use it as a bikini bottom or top depending on your need. You start by draping it around your body, followed by twisting and knotting the middle and end parts, and then adjusting it to your unique body fit.

Video and text tutorials are available. You may, however, use your own creativity in mixing and matching the fabrics, as well as in using the accessories to create personalized styles.

By changing the twist or knot, as well as adding an accessory like a ring, you can instantly change the look of your Nalla bikini. You may, for example, change your bikini bottom with knots at the side of the waist into one with straps around your waist. You will feel like you have several bikinis packed when you only have one!

Since the stitch-less Lycra can be stretched, you can also adjust your bikini top and bottom to make them smaller or larger, tighter or looser. You may want a tighter bikini top, for example, if you want to emphasize your breasts’ cleavage.

Nallas can also be mixed and matched as a set. You can create a layered look with two colors of Nallas for your bikini top and bottom, or make a maillot-type swimsuit from two Nallas in the same color. Your imagination is your limit when it comes to creating your own personalized swimwear!

Nalla comes in several colors, too, from the basic black and white to the vivid reds, pinks and greens.

Comfy Organic T-shirts Designed by Local Artists in Playa del Rey

Comfy Organic T-shirts Designed by Local Artists in Playa del Rey

Clean {aesthetic}, the manufacturer of Clean {tee} shirt, began as an entrepreneurial venture of two art school graduates who printed T-shirts in their distinctive style in their kitchen. Over the years, the duo grew their venture into a business with its own brick-and-mortar store and gallery in Playa del Rey, California. Today, it’s a popular place for locals and tourists alike to browse and buy colorful artworks and basic shirts.

The Clean {tee} shirts reflect the designers’ love for the modern West Coast California lifestyle, as well as their affinity for the underground arts.  The street culture marked by a relaxed approach to life, a love for casual shorts and shirts, and a love for san, sand and sea as well as surfing is also evident in these shirts.

These are T-shirts made from 100% organic cotton, a soft material that drapes well on the body while also allowing for a relaxed fit. Organic cotton is also easier to clean and easy on the environment, thanks to the absence of pesticides, fertilizers and other contaminants used in its production from the fields to the factory.

Each Clean {tee} shirts has a relaxed neck, reduced sleeve flare, and relaxed armpit holes so there are no pit puckers. The slightly longer sleeves and body make it possible to move well, whether walking down the street or coasting down on a skateboard, without exposing too much skin. The soft and lightweight quality of the cotton material also makes it seem like you’re wearing next to nothing yet still be covered.

The Clean {tee} shirts are available in several colors – white, stone blue, faded eraser, vintage black, and black – so there’s a color for every preference.  The shirts aren’t printed but therein lies its appeal – you can mix and match it with your jeans, skirts and shorts. These are available in several sizes from XS to XXL, too.
