Renowned Product Designer, Yves Béhar is Redefining The Way Music Lovers Interact With Vinyl Records With LOVE

Vinyl records are becoming popular again and LOVE billed as the world’s first intelligent turntable, offers a contemporary way of playing them. Think of the traditional turntable concept but with a high-tech twist – the entire hardware comes in a giant tonearm placed above the record.

Designed by Yves Béhar, the renowned product designer, LOVE is a more stylish, more portable and simpler solution than the turntables in the market today. This is so easy to use on any flat surface, such as a kitchen or coffee table, and so easy to set up.

Just place a vinyl record on top of a base and place LOVE over it; the package comes with two record bases. The linear tracking sensor scans the record so that information about its diameter, number of tracks, and grooves can be gathered. The songs are then played back via a standard stylus, or needle, at its bottom.

You can connect LOVE to your standard speakers, headphones, receivers, multi-room systems, and phones using wired and wireless options (e.g., Wi-Fi and Bluetooth). From your smartphone, you can control its settings including play and pause, repeat songs, skip tracks, control its volume, and even display album art. You can also select different RPM speeds, either through the app on your smartphone or a button on the bottom of the device.

But LOVE can also automatically analyze the RPM speed needed for each record, partly through a Discogs database. A Maxi 12” record plays at 45 RPM while a 7” record may play at 33 RPM.

LOVE doesn’t rotate the record and keeps the stylus static, a common way of playing vinyl records on conventional turntables. Instead, it actually puts the needle into motion.

The entire hardware is light enough that it will not damage vinyl, as well as sized conveniently for easy transport and storage in a bag. A large rotating foot pad supports the turntable’s entire weight; the pad itself sits securely on the record’s label. This means only the stylus touches the vinyl’s grooves.

As for sound quality, LOVE provides high-quality sound with the crackles and pops that make vinyl records such beloved items among audiophiles.
